1. Performance and use:
It is yellow waxy solid, soluble in water, sulfuric acid and dilute alkali, HLB value is 9.6, with dispersing ability in the presence of certain salts.
Tween 60 can be used as emulsifier, dispersant, stabilizer, diffusing agent, softener, antistatic agent, antirust agent, finishing agent for medicine, cosmetics, paint and pigment, textile, food, pesticide, detergent production and metal surface rust-proof cleaning industry, as a viscosity-reducing agent used in petroleum extraction and transportation.
As O/W food emulsifier, it can be used alone or mixed with Span-60, Span-65 and Span-80. It can be used in bread with a maximum use level of 2.5g/kg, and in emulsified flavors with a maximum use level of 1.5g/kg.
Nonionic surfactant. Tween 60 has been used in studies to evaluate the encapsulation of lipophilic ingredients in surfactant-based colloidal drug delivery systems for functionality. It has also been used in studies to target the delivery of adriamycin-loaded magnetic-vesicles.
It is used as an emulsifier in the food, pharmaceutical, plastics and cosmetics industries, and as a component of polyacrylonitrile fiber spinning oils, and as a fiber post-processing softener to eliminate fiber static and improve softness.
