It is a light creamy yellow to brownish yellow fine beaded, flaky or hard waxy particles with a soft greasy odour and a caramel sweet taste. Span-85 is not a single compound, but a mixture with various similar compositions, with sorbitol drunk trioleate phenol as the main body. It is low viscosity, HLB value is the smallest, thus the strongest lipophilic, is an excellent water-in-oil (w/O) emulsifier, but also O/w-type auxiliary emulsifier. | |||||||||
