Industrial Grade: Manganese acetate is a crucial oxidation catalyst in petrochemicals and organic synthesis:
1. Polyester resin raw material production and acetaldehyde oxidation to acetic acid: It is used as a catalyst for the gas-phase or liquid-phase oxidation of acetaldehyde to produce acetic acid.
2. "Drying agent" for coatings and inks: In the production of paints, varnishes, and printing inks, manganese acetate can be used as a drying agent. It promotes the cross-linking reaction between unsaturated oils (such as tung oil and linseed oil) in coatings and oxygen in the air, thereby accelerating the curing and drying of the paint film.
3. Dyeing mordant: In textile printing and dyeing processes, manganese acetate can be used as a mordant for certain dyes. It can combine with fiber and dye molecules to form insoluble lakes, thereby improving the color fastness of fabrics (resistance to fading) and making the colors more vibrant.
