Hydroxypropyl starch CAS 9049-76-7

Hydroxypropyl starch is a white (colorless) powder with good flowability and excellent water solubility. Its aqueous solution is transparent and colorless, and it exhibits good stability. It is stable to acids and alkalis, has a lower calcination temperature than native starch, and its viscosity changes with temperature are more stable than native starch. Mixing with salt or sucrose has no effect on viscosity. After etherification, its ice-melt stability and transparency are improved.
