| Glycylglycine is a white, leaf-shaped crystal with a melting point of 260–262 °C (decomposes). Its solubility in water at 25 °C is 13.4 g/100 mL. It is readily soluble in hot water, sparingly soluble in alcohol, and insoluble in ether. It is a biochemical reagent used to determine the substrates of L-glycylglycine dipeptidase and to synthesize polypeptides. Furthermore, as a short peptide, glycylglycine plays a crucial role in its interaction with transition metals in many bioengineering fields. | |||||||||
