Dioctyl sebacate, also known as di-2-ethylhexyl sebacate, or DOS, is prepared by esterification of sebacic acid and 2-ethylhexyl alcohol. Suitable for polyvinyl chloride, vinyl chloride copolymer, nitrate cellulose, ethyl cellulose and synthetic rubber. Its high plasticizing efficiency, low volatility, not only has excellent cold resistance, but also has good heat resistance, light resistance and electrical insulation, and heating has good lubricity, so that the product appearance, feel good, especially suitable for the production of cold-resistant wire and cable materials, artificial leather, film, sheet, sheet and so on.
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) sebacate is used as a plasticizer. It is an important raw material and intermediate used in organic synthesis, agrochemicals and dyestuff fields.
DOS was used as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride cable material, cold resistant film and artificial leather and other resins, and can also be used as a raw material for jet engine lubricants.
