Bronopol CAS 52-51-7

Ropol, chemical name 2-bromo-2-nitro-1,3-propanediol, other names include bromonitrol, bacteriostatic alcohol, etc. Foreign product name: Bronopol. It is a white crystalline powder with a melting point of 122-130 ℃. It is highly soluble in water, ethanol, propylene glycol, ethyl acetate, etc., slightly soluble in oil, and difficult to dissolve in chloroform, acetone, etc. In 1919, it was produced by E. Schmidt and R. Wilkendorf, and subsequently, the British Pharmaceutical Society Commissoin published its generic name Bronopol. In 1970, it was patented in the UK for use in agriculture.
