| Arabinogalactan is a neutral polysaccharide composed of arabinose and galactose. This sugar is abundant in the xylem of coniferous trees, especially in Larix, which can reach up to 25%. It can be extracted from wood powder using water chemistry. The ratio of L-arabinose to D-galactose is generally 1:5-6. For structures with many branches, arabinose side chains with β -1,3- bonds are attached to the β -1,3- or β -1,6-linked galactose chains. | |||||||||
