L-Threonine

Threonine was isolated and identified by W. C. Rose in 1935 from the hydrolysis products of fibrin. It has since been proven to be the last essential amino acid to be discovered. It serves as the second or third limiting amino acid for livestock and poultry and plays an extremely important physiological role in animal bodies.
