Feed Grade
1. High-Concentration Micronutrient Premix: In modern animal husbandry, micronutrients (iron, copper, zinc, manganese, etc.) are highly concentrated and mixed in the form of "premixes." If ferrous sulfate heptahydrate, which contains a large amount of water of crystallization, is used, the water of crystallization is easily released, leading to severe moisture absorption, clumping, and mold growth in the feed powder.
2. Protection of Sensitive Components such as Vitamins: The free water in heptahydrate can trigger oxidation reactions, rapidly destroying high-value vitamins A and E, as well as antibiotics, in the premix. Using monohydrate/anhydrous ferrous sulfate can maintain the long-term dryness of the feed, significantly extending its shelf life.
Food Grade
1. High-Grade Formula Milk Powder and Infant Rice Cereal: Infant formula milk powder or nutritional rice cereal that emphasizes "dry processing" must use monohydrate/anhydrous ferrous sulfate powder. It ensures the dryness and fluidity of the milk powder when it is not opened for a long time, preventing iron from catalyzing the oxidative rancidity of the fat in the milk powder.
2. Baking Flour and High-Calcium Iron-Fortified Cereals: Used for iron fortification in biscuits, breakfast drinks, and cereals. Extremely low free water content prevents premature discoloration or spoilage within the packaging.
Industrial Grade
1. Lithium-ion Battery Cathode Material Precursor: With the development of the new energy industry, high-purity monohydrate or anhydrous ferrous sulfate has become one of the core iron sources for synthesizing iron phosphate, and is subsequently used to manufacture lithium iron phosphate battery cathode materials. Its absence of a large amount of water of crystallization greatly simplifies the dehydration step in the calcination synthesis process, reducing energy consumption.
2. High-Grade Magnetic Materials and Anti-corrosion Coatings: Used in the production of high-purity ferrite magnetic materials, or as a desiccant and high-performance colorant base in special anti-corrosion paints and anhydrous inks.
