Application Scenarios:

Fragrance Grade (Consumer Chemicals):

 

1. High-end Cosmetics and Sunscreens: Cinnamic acid itself and its derivatives (such as methyl cinnamate and ethyl cinnamate) have excellent UV absorption capabilities. This grade of cinnamic acid is commonly used in the synthesis of light stabilizers and sunscreens (such as the well-known sunscreen ingredient: ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate/OMC), and is widely added to sunscreens and anti-aging skincare products.

 

2. High-grade Fragrances and Flavors: Used to formulate perfumes, soaps, shampoos, etc., with oriental and vanilla notes.

 

Food Grade:

 

1. Food Flavors (Natural Identical Flavors): Cinnamic acid itself has a slightly sweet honey aroma and a cinnamon-like spiciness. It is widely used to formulate food flavors with apple, cherry, apricot, honey, etc., and is used in candies, beverages, and baked goods.

 

2. Food Preservation and Freshness Preservation: Cinnamic acid has natural antifungal and antibacterial activity. It is often used directly as a preservative, or in the processing of food preservatives such as sodium cinnamate, applied in the preservation of fruit juices, soft drinks, soy sauce, and pastries.

 

3. Postharvest Fruit Preservation: In surface coating preservation of fruits such as citrus and apples, food-grade cinnamic acid can act as an antioxidant and antibacterial agent, extending the shelf life of fruits.

 

Industrial Grade:

 

Photosensitive Materials and Plastic Additives: Used as a light stabilizer, antioxidant, and heat stabilizer in the synthesis of polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
