1.Precursor To Caprolactam For Nylon 6: Through the Beckmann rearrangement it is converted into epsilon caprolactam, the monomer behind nylon 6 fibres and engineering plastics, which makes it the key intermediate across that whole value chain.
2. Anti-Skinning Agent For Alkyd And Oil-Based Coatings: Dissolved into coating and ink systems it stops the surface from skinning during storage and use.
3. Feedstock Node In The Hydroxylamine Route: Cyclohexanone oxime is made from cyclohexanone and hydroxylamine, and roughly 95 percent of hydroxylamine output goes into making it, so the oxime sits at the centre of that supply chain.
