The synthesis process begins with phenol as the starting material, using sulphuric acid as a catalyst. Isobutylene gas is introduced to undergo alkylation, forming p-tert-butylphenol. This is then catalytically hydrogenated to produce p-tert-butylcyclohexanol. Finally, it is esterified with acetic acid to obtain 4-tert-butyl cyclohexyl acetate.
